The 3 Principles of Buying a Wedding Veil
With wedding veils now becoming more elaborate and made in bold new colors, it is harder to determine which one will look best with your wedding gown and tiara. The bridal veil should complete the look, and not draw everyone's attention from the bride's face and gown. Keep these principles in mind when shopping for a wedding veil:
1. Less is more. If there is heavy embroidery all over the back of the veil, it will cover the back of the gown. If the gown has a corset back or an elaborate train, you want to select a wedding veil that has little or no embellishment. The beautiful details at the back of your gown will easily be seen through the plain, pencil or satin cord edge veil.
2. Plain veils look good with any tiara or bridal jewelry. Wearing a plain veil allows the bride to wear a more stunning tiara and choose bolder jewelry such as chandelier earrings. If you select an embroidered designer veil, then you have to choose a simpler tiara. A large rhinestone tiara and busy veil will overpower the bride's face.
3. Elaborate veils look best with plain wedding gowns. A strapless, matte satin wedding gown, a style that has been popular for the past 10 years, will look perfect with a custom designer wedding veil. The elaborate edging of the veil will fall over the bare arms and embellish the plain back of the wedding gown.
Wedding veils trends will continue to be bolder and more elaborate in years to come. The smart bride will use her wedding veil to complete the whole bridal ensemble instead of making it the focal point on her wedding day.
Dang Micosoft Word always complicating things!?
I am currently creating my wedding program and Microsoft Word is making my life and creation a nightmare. My specific problem is this: I downloaded a template from Microsoft Office. I am on a Mac. I opened the template and wanted to get started. So I delete the fake priest name to insert my own and then this red box which I've never seen before says my name, the date, the time, and what I deleted plus a line pointing to it. And there's a check and x in the corner. I can click to "accept" or "reject" the change. What gives?! Plus when I try to just ignore it- it leaves whatever I've typed in red underlined font that I can't change.

Did anyone watch that Gypsy Wedding programme the other night on Channel 4?
If you are a mother / father, what did you think of those little girls dressed so provocatively and dancing like they were in a strip joint?
I found it very distasteful and shocking, the girls of all ages were doing the same thing! Shocking..
Opinions?
Good point Ella.
It's strange they don't allow mixing with other cultures, but allow their kids to go to normal schools as seen in the first episode last week where the little girl had a first holy communion with normal children.
It seems to be a culture of extremes. They have strict rules about girls going out and mixing with men, but allow their little girls to wear skimpy outfits and dance like tarts.
Also, the "grabbing" concept (male ritual of grabbing a girl and forcing her to kiss him to show his affection for her) is shocking, can't believe it happens.
Last night one Gypsy was complaining about normal girls swearing in front of men but she said Gypsy women wouldn't do such a thing... even though they allow their own girls to dress like tarts..
Big Softy- Bit of dirty dancing? These were little girls on national tv no less. If you think having sex before marriage is bad in this day and age then, maybe you're "priorities" are out of date?
Also, if couples have to split because they cannot live with each other anymore then they have no choice, some people have to divorce. The gypsy model of family and society is skewed and not fit for the modern world, hence the reason they are so secular from society.

DIY 8 1/2 x 11 wedding programs. What size ribbon should I get for the programs?
I am doing layered programs, and I found some really pretty ribbon that is 1/4 inch. I don't know if there is a certain size which would work best with a normal size hole punch hole, or is there a thicker ribbon that would look best? Thanks for all your help
