Wedding Cakes - Wedding Cake Choices and Designs
Wedding cakes are taking on so many new and different points of view to move with the trends. Wedding cakes are covered in butter cream, rolled fondant, fondant lace, or in white or dark chocolate to create the perfect canvas for the beauty of your wedding cake to unfold. Wedding cakes are the main focus but other celebration cakes are featured as well for special occasions such as engagements and anniversaries. Wedding cakes are not designed to be jostled when someone walks by, the surface on which the cake table is set must be firm and unyielding. Wedding cakes are as much a traditional part of weddings as the bride being late and the best man fluffing his speech. Wedding cakes are not only used to feed guests, but they are used for decoration purposes. Wedding cakes are garnished with nuts, fudge or even spice. Wedding cakes are often in the $3-$5 per slice ballpark, depending on how elaborate the decoration.
Cake flavor and filling can be customized to your liking. Cakes today are more elaborate than they have ever been and you need to follow if you would like people to talk about your cake for the years to come. Cakes are as delicious as they are beautiful, so really express yourself with your wedding cake. Cakes come in an assortment of shapes and frostings. Cakes are decorated with a white chocolate sash and ribbon around the side with white chocolate cones on top.
Chocolate wedding cakes are nothing like traditional wedding cakes. Chocolate wedding cakes began to gain in acceptance within the last couple of decades. Chocolate wedding cakes also offer several options for more variety -- from chocolate cheesecake to chocolate-truffle-adorned white cakes. Chocolate wedding cakes are equally elegant and sophisticated, and can be made to custom orders by professional cake bakers suitable for every taste. Chocolate fountain wedding cakes are a novel and fun alternative to conventional cakes.
Wedding cakes are very personal, have a good idea of the general design and type of cake before contacting wedding cake suppliers.
How do I tell my parents I'm engaged when I haven't told both of them that we're dating?
I've been with my boyfriend since 2006 and we got engaged in May of 2010. I haven't been able to get up the nerve to announce my engagement to my family. This guy is wonderful, we get along great and we have an understanding of each other that is beyond friendship and love. Trouble comes because I feel like I should tell my parents. I've never been close to either of my parents since they divorced 12 years ago. My Fiance used to work for my father and for whatever reason my Dad doesn't like him because he quit working for him and found another job when we started dating. My mom doesn't like him because she thinks that I should find a rich husband to buy me things. I don't care about having a bunch of things and being miserable. I managed to tell my mom that I'm dating the guy but she hasn't even met him. My Dad goes "stalker insane creepy shotgun man" at the mere idea of me dating My fiance.
My fiance and I are both adults. I'm 24 and he's 31. He has two children from a previous relationship ( he has never been married) which is fine with me because I don't want to have children of my own and he doesn't want any more children. I accept him for all of his faults and he does the same for me. I love his kids and I wouldn't mind being a step mom. My dad specifically told me not to date this guy and I was already in love with him. I'm reluctant to take my parents advice because they both have a long history of divorce and turbulent relationships. I really feel like I have found the love of my life. Should I be concerned with telling my parents since they hardly ever contact me anymore or call me and we live in separate cites? How should I make the wedding announcement to the family without pissing off my parents from here until eternity? The wedding is next September x_x Any advice or help is appreciated.

Why are wedding/engagement announcements so pretentious?
I've been reading the engagement and wedding announcements in my local paper, and they all seem really pretentious! They seem like a cold run down from the brides parent's on the couple's accomplishments, and nothing about the couple themselves!
They always seem to read 'The bride graduated from this school and works for this company, the groom graduated from that school and is employed by that company.'
Why aren't engagement announcements more like 'The couple met 3 years ago, they love traveling together and can't wait to start a family!' I went to college and have a good job too. But when I tell the world about my engagement I'd rather it be about me and my husband to be, then my career.

Like look at that form! Why the job and school info? Why not a paragraph that says 'tell us about the bride and groom, how did they meet, when will they have the ceremony?'
