Second Wedding Vows

Wedding Vows: Traditional or Contemporary?

Your wedding vows should be something that are meaningful for the rest of your lives. It is worth spending some time planning which wedding vows are right for you and your mate.

You might want to look for wedding vows and ideas for wedding vows online. Wedding sites have information and suggestions about wedding vows and this information will give you an idea of possibilities.

Many people choose to use traditional wedding vows. You can discuss your wedding vows with the pastor or priest who is going to marry you. There are different wedding vows depending on the faith you practice.

You may choose to write your own wedding vows. This can be especially lovely as long as you know what you are doing. If you plan to write your own wedding vows and will be married in a church or synagogue you will need to make sure this is allowed.

When you have made the decision to write your own wedding vows you should start writing at least two months before the ceremony. This will give you time to rewrite and make modifications.

It is not a good idea to write your own wedding vows if one of the parties really doesn t want to. This is such an important part of the wedding that both the bride and groom should be willing to take part in the writing of the wedding vows.

Before you ever start writing your wedding vows take the time to discuss what you both want to say. Make a list or keep a notebook of the things that you want to include in the wedding vows.

You will also need to decide if you want to have the wedding vows memorized. If you are not comfortable with memorizing the wedding vows it is perfectly all right to read them instead. It would be better to read the wedding vows than have one person go completely blank when the time comes.

Spend some time pondering your wedding vows, what you want to say and how you want to say it.

Second wedding/Vow Renewal, can I have the wedding I never got?
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if it's okay to have a vow renewal (second wedding) to make up for the one I never really got. We were engaged and planning a big wedding, when about two months later I found out I was pregnant. We canceled the big wedding due to the situation and just decided to make it legal for insurance purposes. We went to Las Vegas and had a chapel wedding. To my surprise all his family showed up, but no one from my family was able to attend due to only 2 weeks prior notice. I didn't get a reception, a wedding dress, a first dance and worse no family there to be with me. I feel bad about it and so does my spouse, so he asked me to marry him again and to have the wedding I dreamed of, but I feel weird because we're already married. What should I do?

A sweet quote for a second wedding/vow renewal?
Im doing up the "wedding" invitations for a friend of mine who is re-marrying her husband, and I am having a hard time trying to find a sweet little quote or poem that would fit their situation. Now I know what the general consensus on "second weddings" on this website are, but before you judge take a look at the circumstances. My friend got pregnant when she was 17 and they got married to "do the right thing". They now have 2 beautiful daughters and are planning to have a vow renewal on their 6th wedding anniversary. They had a really rocky relationship and only in the past year or so she feels like they have properly fallen in love, and as silly as this sounds, she feels as though they are ready to get maried, so celebrate their love. She wont be having an all-out wedding, just a bit of a party for close friends and family to gather around and hear them make (new and improved) vows. So, what Im looking for idealy is a poem or quote that says "we've been together for a while, things have been hard but we're really in love now and want to celebrate it". i know this is a very specific situation but if ayone knows anything nice that would fit (or could fit with a bit of editing) it would be a great help!
