Catholic priests and outdoor weddings?
I am looking for information regarding Catholics marrying outside the church and having Catholic priests perform weddings outside of the church itself. My fiance and I are both Catholics...we were born into Catholic families, had our first communions, reconciliations, and confirmation in the Catholic church. We are getting married next May. We have never had anything against the Catholic church in any way, however we just don't picture ourselves getting married in a church. The only reason for this is just basically because we have our hearts set on this beautiful outdoor venue, its actually a garden at a conservatory which houses many botanical exhibits. Has anyone out there had problems with getting married outside of the Catholic church under similar circumstances? It just bothers me in a way that the church can put restrictions on peoples wedding ceremonies, when they make the couples truly happy, are a better representation of the couple being held elsewhere, and are not sinful or anything that makes not getting married in the church a legitimate issue. Or was this not a problem anyone faced? I am bothered by the thought of my marriage not being officially recognized and being deemed illegitimate or unworthy. Any tips/advice or stories to share to help us out? I mean, there are so many people getting married in outdoor ceremonies that I don't understand what the problem would be. And the priest at our church is an older man that I think is very traditional in nature...can you find a priest outside of your specific church, as long as they are Catholic? How does all that work? Also, what are the marriage classes like and how early must they be completed?

Audio Professionals, Please Help! I need guidance using Lavalier Microphones to capture sound outdoors.?
Hello! I have a question for all you audio professionals out there! I am a professional videographer who's wanting to step-up in the level of quality when shooting people's special events. Any videographer could tell you that the bread and butter of our business are Weddings. Lately I've been shooting for a lot of outdoor weddings, and most of those at the beach! Obviously this represents a bit of a challenge when it comes to capturing audio, especially if I'm moving around with my camera. My idea is to buy 3 Lavalier Microphones to put on the wedding officiant, groom, and bride. I'm positive this would solve my problem. Now I have NO IDEA about what to buy, how to set it up, and how will it get recorded. So here are my questions: 1-First of all, what should I buy (brand, type, model, etc.). I don't need "the best out there" but good enough to get comprehensive audio on an outdoor wedding. 2-How does it work? Does the sound get recorded into the camera directly? Or does it get recorded separately? And if it does get recorded separately, into what kind of media is it recorded on (Hard Drive, MiniDV Tape, etc.)? Please keep in mind that I will later have to import the audio (as an AIFF file) into an editing program (Final Cut Pro) in order to sync it with the video being edited. 3-How do I set it up? Reasonably Priced Outdoor Weddings in Atlanta?
Boyfriend and I have decided we want an outdoor wedding next year. We both live in north Atlanta/Dunwoody, and I'm looking around and finding way too many things out of the price range. We need a place that has an indoor space for if it rains, and we'd like the ceremony to be outdoors as well. We're not picky about the city it is in, so any locations in the Metro Area (maybe anything within 40 minutes of Perimeter) are fine. We're probably going to be going with maybe 100 guests. Budget will be less than $8,000 for the entire thing (including food, drinks, dress, cake, invites, etc). Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
