The wedding vows are a solemn promise between the groom and bride. In front of witnesses, the groom and bride take turns to tell their wedding vows. There are hundreds of wedding vows. The wedding vow may be religious, traditional, interfaith, or personalized.
Traditionally, the priest asks a series of questions to the groom and bride. Facing each other and holding hands with each other, the groom and bride take turns to do the wedding vows.
Here is an example of traditional Christian wedding vow.

Here is another example in which the groom and bride take turns to read, or say.

Take you, (Name),
To be my (wife/husband);
To have and to hold,

Till death do us part.
Many couple tries to memorize the wedding vows. With pressure and nerve sets in, the groom or bride peeks on the written wedding vow.

me and my fiance plan on writing our own vows, but i am looking for something different when it comes to the part where the Justice asks us " do you ____ take ____ to be your lawfully wedding..." but i don't know what that part of the vow is called and i want something different for that part, i don't want it to necessarily say the whole "lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold..." you know! anyways i want to know if anyone knows where on the internet i can find different ways to say that part! it would be really helpful...i'm getting married in 10 days!!!

Where can i find non-traditional wedding vows?
I'm getting married next month & this will be both mine & his second marriage. I'm not really feeling the traditional wedding vows. I like them, but all of them are pretty much a different way of saying the same old thing in a different way. They just seem to apply more to a first marriage & not so much to our relationship I guess.
Anyone know where I could find some vows that may fit better the second time around??
If we can't find any, we will be writing our own. But hubby to be isn't much of a writer & he would rather not. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! =)

Personalized Non-Traditional Wedding Vows?
My fiance and I are getting married in 3wks. I am writing the entire ceremony and we will also be doing personal vows as well. I am getting ideas and then putting a twist on them to make them more my own. Our ceremony is not religious but I would like to mention god in our vows. We have a 15month old son who I would like to mention as well. I would like romantic serious vows with maybe a little humor. We will be having a long ceremony with readings, I really want it to be sweet and beautiful. I am alittle overwhelmed so please any ideas would be very appreciated!
