Hey I have a few math word problems here involving fractions, I believe I might have done them, but my fractions get a little messy. Any solutions would be much appreciated.
1. A company gave away free fitness club memberships to its employees as
Christmas bonus. A number of employees used the free membership to enroll in a
fitness program on January 2nd, as a New Year?s resolution. By March 2nd, 4/5 of
these people were still participating in the program. Of those, 5/6 were still
participating on May 2nd, and of those, 9/10 were still participating on July 2nd. If
36 of the original participants were still in the program on July 2nd, how many
employees were originally enrolled?
2. Ben spent 1/4 of his allowance on a movie. He spent 11/18 of the remainder at Starbucks. Then, from the money remaining, he spent $9 on magazines, which left him 1/24 of his original allowance. How much money was left?
3) Of the people entering high school, 4/5 graduate. Of the people graduating high school, 5/8 are admitted to university or college. Of the people admitted to the post-secondary institutions, 1/2 graduate.
a) What fraction of the people entering high school graduate from university or college?
b)If 80 people graduated from a high school, how many of these do not finish post secondary education?
