Having both parents walk me down the aisle at my wedding?
So I was planning on having both of my parents walk me down the aisle. My parents of divorced and I am not at all close with my father but if he does not get to walk me down the aisle he will flip out (he caused a huge scene at my sisters wedding a few years ago). I really want to have my mom walk me down so as I thought I would just have both walk me down. That seems to be traditional in jewish weddings so it will not look to unusual even if I am not jewish. But my mom is worried that her gold mother of the bride dress is going to take to much focus off of me as we walk down the aisle. I do not think that is an issue, I mean I am the one in the white dress with a veil. However I was looking at videos on youtube of processionals with both parents walking the bride and the mother seems to usually be wearing black or another dark color, so maybe my mom is right. I am not obsessed with being the center of attention all night but I guess walking down the aisle should be my big moment. Her dress is beautiful, her wearing another dress is defiantly not an option, it is floor length metallic gold with gold lace sleeves. I am wearing an strapless ivory mermaid gown with a chapel train and a cathedral veil.

Why do many Jews say that being Jewish has nothing to do with your culture?
First of all I'm Jewish and I'm proud of it. but I am Jewish by my heritage and culture more then I am religious. So are many people in my community, dozens of my friends feel this way. We are Jewish because we follow Jewish tradition and culture, observe Jewish holidays, want to have Jewish weddings and to be married by a rabbi. Yet so few of us attend Synagogue regularly, we don't keep kosher and mix meat and dairy all the time. My boyfriend had his DNA done and it came back that he's 100% Ashkanazi Jew, both of his parents are Jewish and so are his ancestors. DNA can't test for religion, so why do many Jews say that being a Jew is ONLY a religion? Yes we are russian Jews, but the DNA traced my boyfriend to be 100% Ashkanazi Jew, even though he was born in Moldova. i did not do my DNA test but I know that my ancestors came from German regions as well, my grandma spoke Idish. I believe that most Eastern European Jews can be traced to Ashkanazi Jews I never said Judaism is a race, I don't think that way. But I do think that many of us come from the same blood poll. Same as many Americans can be traced to being Irish or Swedish or Armenian etc... those are not races but they are groups of people with cultural ties... maybe a nationality or something of that sort

Whats the name of this song?
its the song that is sometimes played at jewish weddings i don't know any of the words but my friends (who's jewish) said it was played in weddings in the 70s and he wont tell me wot its called, im not sure i no there's not really much information about it here but its worth a try maybe someone knows lol :) omg yeah it is thank you soo much
