Wedding Toast Speech
A wedding toast speech is traditionally given by a number of guests at a wedding.
It is traditional for the groom to make a wedding toast speech in which he thanks everyone for attending the wedding celebration and it is this speech which represents his first opportunity to speak on behalf of his new wife.
A wedding toast speech is given by the bride's father. Dad will share fond memories he has of his girl growing up. It will be an emotional time for him having 'given away' his cherished daughter and it is this wedding toast speech that is most likely to cause tears amongst the guests.
The wedding toast speech most eagerly anticipated by guests is usually that made by the best man. The best man is usually the comedian amongst the wedding toast speech givers. The best man will give the guests some insight into the life and ways of the groom - sometimes insights that the groom may have preferred to keep to himself.
More and more brides are getting involved in the business of giving a wedding toast speech. In these days of sexual equality - many brides prefer to speak for themselves!
Traditions regarding the wedding toast speech customs vary from culture to culture but one thing they all undoubtedly have in common is to express good wishes for the health and happiness of the bride and groom. The other main function of a wedding toast speech is to offer thanks to everyone who played a part in making the wedding possible.
A great wedding toast speech is heartfelt, sometimes amusing, but always sincere.
Help with Organising Jewish Wedding?
I'm looking to organise my Jewish wedding for the end of this year and I'm really looking for some website that has all the resources in one place. If someone could provide some information, that would be really great.

Ramadan - Do Jewish people think they are above everyone else?
Salam
Reason for asking while being raised as a Christian in my early childhood years, I was raised to seperate myself from Jews, then when I reached adulthood and moved to where I am now, changed my denomination from Baptist to Assembly of God and was taught to love and pray for the Jewish people because I was taught they were the chosen people and that Christians were drafted in and recipients of the promises. Of course now I am Muslim but I was watching a TV program about some people attending a Jewish wedding and they complained about how other guest who were Jewish wouldnt even speak to them. I have noticed this also regarding Jews. Is it true that most (not all) Jewish people think they are above everyone else and will not associate with people of other religions. This is bothersome to me in a way because God chooses whom He will, not the other way around, Why are Christian people then trying to butter up to them if they feel this way?
@Ruby - sorry for wording that to sound this way, what I meant was I was raised to not intermingle as far as marriage, same goes for Catholics and people of other races and divorced people. My parents wanted us children to marry christians, of course, brother and sister married Catholics and I married a divorced man. My parents were very strick Southern Baptist believers who lived according to Baptist beliefs.
and yes that kindof sounds racist concerning other races but again, they had old country beliefs and believed the children would be the ones to suffer, and years ago they would have, but we all know thats not true now. Races intermingle and some of the most beautiful children I have ever seen was the resutl of it.
@Somber - well said, I liked that. Thanks

Why do I need a Jewish wedding?
My lady friend of 9 years is making me marry her. All of a sudden, she remembers we are both Jews, and wants a Rabbi to do the deed. I kid about her, and really care, but I have not been in the presence (knowingly) of a Rabbi is at least 15 years. The idea brings up bad memories and uncomfortable feelings. Suggestions?
