It is surrounded by green mountains and features the stunning historic snow chapel. There are slope side villages to explore. This resort promises a perfect wedding from the beginning to the end. Three stallion inn is another famous inn in Vermont which is more then 30 years old but is famous for it weddings and out of the ordinary locations. thoughts on a private wedding ceremony and open reception?
My bf and I have been together a very, very long time and have been merely waiting mostly for financial reasons to get legally married. We are now ready to do so and are trying to sort out how to do it. I have no big wedding dreams, I hate having a lot of attention on me, and we don't have a lot of money to spend. However, mostly for the sake of parents and grandparents we thought it would be nice to plan a small something. I found some nice little outside locations to have a ceremony but they are very limited in seating. We would only be able to invite immediate family to the ceremony (find by me, less attention :P). For the "reception" we would like to invite a larger group of extended family and friends to dinner to celebrate (a dinner in a room in a restaurant, no big dancing party with a dj and all that jazz). I thought we could do the ceremony at lets say 3 and then have the dinner with everyone at 4 - so I would still be in my wedding dress - which would be casual, but still a white dress of some sort. Is that weird? What do people think of that idea? A lot of the info I saw online involved couples going on destination weddings and coming back and having a party. We're having a local wedding, it's just that we want to keep it small and intimate, but I would still like to celebrate in some way with friends and family by having a dinner. Most people I talk to say the ceremony is the boring part anyway, but other people online I see say they'd be offended and you have to be invited to both. Please share your thoughts. Also, is it ok that I'd be going directly to the dinner still in my dress? And it's not a gifts thing. I'd just as well go to court then spend money on a vacation. But I think we owe it to our friends and family to do something with them and thought this would be nice. I will have no control over if my mom or his mom or anyone else throws a shower but will insist only people invited to the dinner are invited to any shower. I have a friend who had an engagement party, bridal shower, private ceremony (with only family and bridal party), then months later a reception. I would of liked to see her in her dress and all, but I didn't think it was a big deal, personally.
