Shopping for your wedding dress can start out as one of the most exciting parts of planning a wedding but can quickly turn into one of the most frustrating experiences of your life.
When shopping for your dress keep in mind that different styles can help you create a thinner, heavier, taller or shorter look. Here are some tips to help you choose the perfect dress to flatter you figure.
Short Thin Figure
- Look for a shirtwaist or natural waist style dress with a bouffant skirt. This style will make you look taller with a fuller figure.
- Your best fabric choices are chiffon, velvet, lace, and schiffli net
- A Princess or A-line style dress will look great on you.
- To look taller and thinner you should avoid any clingy knit fabrics.
- Your best fabric choice is Chiffon because it creates a floating effect and will camouflage your weight.
- A shirtwaist or a natural waist style dress with a full skirt will look nice on you.
- If you want to appear shorter, look for a dress with tiers or flounces.
- The best fabrics for you are satin and lace.
- A Princess or A-line dress is a good choice as it will slim your figure.

What should I wear to an outdoor Luke Bryan concert?
I'm going to Luke Bryan's concert in Macon, Ga. next Saturday night (Oct. 1) and I have no idea which outfit to wear! I was thrown for a loop when I looked at the forecast and it said the low is supposed to be 50°! :/ (I'm from Florida so that's pretty cold to me.) I was considering a cute flowery dress (it's from the LC by Lauren Conrad line sold at Kohl's; I'll post the link further down) with boots and jean jacket or I have this pinkish taupe colored blazer that would go well with it. I haven't bought the dress yet but can if I need too. My second option is a pair of denim jeans tucked into my boots with a cream colored boyfriend style button up shirt paired with a wide belt at my waist (possibly a scarf depending how cold it is) and of course plenty of accessories. The pinkish taupe blazer I mentioned earlier goes really well with this too! Which one should I wear? Please keep in mind that I want to be comfortable and sexy. And warm if need be!
*I know I'm going for a tousled look with my hair and a smokey eye if this helps any.
