Samhain Wedding 2010? Celtic Traditions?
My boyfriend and I are both of Irish descent, and I think it would be wonderful to incorporate our heritage into our wedding ceremony. (We are planning to marry next year, but he has not officially proposed yet.) I have questions;
1. We were thinking about marrying on Oct 31, 2010 on Samhain because it is the new Celtic year. I have seen conflicting points of view on this date. Our friends are not Pagan so it won't affect celebrations, but I worryabout kids who would like to trick or treat. Unfortunately Nov. 1 is also an option, but a Monday.
2. Which traditions would you use so as not to have a completely pagan ceremony? We agreed we would like to do the handfasting. Again, we would like to incorporate some heritage but I am not Pagan nor is his family...he might be. ;)
3. Has anyone found any Celtic wedding dresses that are not costume like?

anyone know where i can find a Celtic wedding dress, that's not for Halloween?
I am getting married in over a year and I like how Celtic dresses look. ( I am scottish american, like 4th generation) and My hubby does not know what he is. but i want to bring my roots in to the wedding. I want a very plain but pretty dress, no glam to the dress. I want something with stripes which is also hard to find. and like a modern day hippie type feel if that makes sense. We picked out our wedding rings last night and they say " My beloved in mine, and I am my Beloved" In hebrew and english, they are spinner and are in silver. If that helps
